People often think that it is only the adults which need exercise. The truth is everyone needs to exercise, even little children. Exercise helps little kids with the growth of their body and it also keeps them active and healthy, ready to take on the challenges of the day. If you are a parent of little children, here are some daily exercise tips for your kids which you might find very helpful. You can ask your child to have a morning exercise with you or you can also have it in other times of the day.
The National Association for Sport and Physical Education or NASPE says the amount of exercise daily will depend on the age of the child. Toddlers should have an hour and a half of exercise every day. This is an hour and a half of planned exercise. Preschoolers should get two hours of planned exercise of everyday. If children get too bored with a full hour of exercise, you can divide it into 15 minutes intervals on various parts of the body. For example, you can have 15 minute exercise sessions throughout the day instead of a whole hour altogether.
You must include exercise routines in a fun way so that the kids will think of them as exercise but as a part of a day filled with fun. For example, if you live in the second or third floors, you can take the stairs instead of riding the elevator. Instead of going to the school on the bus, children can take the bike provided that it is perfectly safe to do so, of course. Children will have to wake up a bit earlier, but their body will reap a lot of rewards for the exercise.
Playing is also a form of exercise. In this new age of technology, children rarely play outside. They are often glued to the television or the PC. Encourage your children to play outside. Restrict the hours that they are in front of the computer or the television. When children play outside, not only do they get to exercise, they also get to interact with kids their age. It promotes socialization too.
